ANTIQUE AMERICAN CHESTNUT
Castanea dentata
This rare species is only available from the reclamation process. Once the most plentiful hardwood in eastern forests, nearly all American chestnuts were wiped out by a blight that began in the early 20th century. Chestnut's warm brown tones and interesting grain patterns give it a gentle, rustic charm.

Reclaimed from barns and houses throughout the Appalachian Mountains, from Maine to Georgia, our American Chestnut can include occasional knots, nail holes and worm holes that all add character to the wood.
